The history of tamilnadu begins with three kingdoms Chera, Chola and Pandiya. Karikala was one of the famous kings in ancient chola kingdom. He built Kalanai in river cauvery. Raja Raja and Rajaendra chola are other famous kings in Chola kingdom.
